ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH EDUCATION
At a time when learning was strictly monopolized and denied to non-caste communities, Sree Narayana Guru recognized that social subjugation was reinforced through enforced ignorance. He declared education to be the primary weapon of liberation.
Guru urged communities to build schools instead of luxury structures, emphasizing that secular literacy, scientific knowledge, technical skills, and spiritual wisdom must be accessible to every child, regardless of gender, birth, or economic status.

Access to knowledge must never be restricted by caste, gender, or social position. Literacy, science, mathematics, literature, and philosophy belong to all human minds equally.

Community night-schools and reading rooms (*Vayanasalas*) established across Kerala under SNDP guidance.
SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES & A NEW KERALA
Under Sree Narayana Guru's inspiration, the SNDP Yogam pioneered community night-schools, vocational institutes, and public reading rooms (*Vayanasalas*) throughout the villages of Travancore and Cochin.
These grassroots educational centers became the foundation of Kerala's famous 100% literacy movement. Today, SNDP Yogam Mumbai–Thane Union continues this legacy by disbursing annual educational scholarships and competitive exam coaching for youth across Maharashtra.
